Flood Control Zone District Economic Stimulus Grant Program
In 2020 the Pierce County Flood Control Zone District allocated $2 million dollars to create the Flood Risk Reduction and Watershed Management Economic Stimulus Grant program. This program was created to increase flood safety in the community while also stimulating the local economy. In order to qualify for funding, projects were required to provide a flood reduction and/or watershed management benefit.
In 2019 the FCZD spent $6.3 million dollars with $3.7 million towards capital projects, $1.3 in operations and maintenance, $870,000 in opportunity funds to partners and local jurisdiction, and $430,000 in administrative costs.
